Convert between yeast types
Recipes call for fresh (cake) yeast, active dry yeast or instant yeast almost interchangeably — but the amounts differ. The standard ratio is fresh : active dry : instant = 3 : 1.5 : 1, so the same dough needs a third as much instant yeast as fresh.
Pick the yeast you have and the one your recipe wants, enter the weight, and this tool converts it. Remember that instant yeast can go straight into the flour, while active dry usually needs proofing in warm liquid first.
