Work is energy transferred by a force: W = F × d × cos θ, measured in
joules (J). The cosine term accounts for force applied at an angle to the
motion — only the component along the direction of travel does work.
Power is the rate of doing work: P = W / t in watts (W), or equivalently
P = F × v for a force moving an object at velocity v.
