Calories burned by activity
Estimate how many calories you burned doing almost any activity. Choose from walking, running, cycling, swimming, weight training, sports, housework and more — each with its standard MET value — then enter your weight and how long you exercised.
The tool uses the energy-expenditure formula from the Compendium of Physical Activities:
kcal per minute = (MET × 3.5 × body mass in kg) ÷ 200
Because the formula scales with body mass, a heavier person burns more calories doing the same activity for the same time. You also see the per-minute and per-hour burn rates so you can plan workouts.
These are population estimates and individual results vary. Everything runs locally in your browser — your details are never uploaded.
